Constant lens length when zooming.
The lens combined with OM-D camera bodies to create a very stable shooting platform because the lens length remains unchanged when zooming. Lens utilizes an inner zoom mechanism.

The lens offers faster focusing performance and improved accuracy. Thease are acheived by Dual VCM focusing system (floating lens focusing technology) that uses two linear motors that is for the first time in any lens. The system is capable for both still images and movies.

L-Fn function button provided on the lens. You can assgin one of your most frequent use function, such as pause autofocus fuction as well as other fuctions available from camera custom settings.

The LH-76 lens hood (included in the box) that can be retracted by sliding back on the lens when storeing the hood. The hood also has a lock mechanism.
LSC-1120 Lens Case
A three-layer construction purse-string type lens case (included in the box) securely protects the lens. This all-in-one lens case can also be stored with the lens hood, lens cap, protection filter and teleconverter remain attached on the lens.
MC-14 M.Zuiko Digital 1.4x Teleconverter
The MC-14 can extend s its focal distance of the lens attached to 1.4x. This converter has been constructed of 6 elements lens (including 1 HR lens) in 3 groups with metal exterior parts in a thin form. It provide dustproof, splashproof and freezeproof performance with virtually no image degradation. The MC-14 is compatible with the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F2.8 PRO and the M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F4 IS PRO.

ZUIKO PRF-ZD72 PRO Protection Filter
This protection filter protects lenses from scratches. ZERO Coating is applied on both sides of the lens sureface, and a satin, glare reducing black alumite aluminum frame is also used. Flares and ghosts are suppressed with anti-reflection properties.
DR-66 Decoration Ring
This decoration ring covers the screws that get exposed when the tripod collar is removed. Not only does it maintain the texture of the body when the collar is removed, but provides a better grip for hand-held shooting.
CBG-10 Camera Bag
This bag can store three f/2.8 PRO lenses and an OM-D. A separately available camera case (CS-42SF) or the sub-case can be attached to the sides of the bag to extend its functionality. Sturdy 2525D polyester is used for the outer material so the camera bag can be used even when shooting in severe environments.

Depth of field
When focusing on a subject, there is an area behind and in front of the focused point that is also in focus. This area is called depth of field. The amount of area behind a focused point will always be greater than the area in front of the focused point regardless of aperture. Depth of field becomes deeper when the focal length is short (wide-angle lens), the focusing distance is long, and aperture is small.
